To celebrate the lustrum of our study association, E.T.S.V. Scintilla, has organized a symposium on the 15th of September, 2015. This years theme was "More Moore?" and interesting talks were given about the progression in electrical engineering. Pictures of the event can be found on the website of Scintilla.
This year exactly fifty years ago, Gordon Moore forecasted a bright future for electronics. His ideas were later distilled into a single organizing principle—Moore’s Law—that has driven technology forward at a staggering clip. We have all benefited from this miraculous development, which has forcefully shaped our modern world more info.
And indeed, for decades the number of transistors on a chip has been doubling every 18 months. However to continue this trend we will have to be creative and innovative so that we can extend Moores law to infinity!
